Love Overdue - Pamela Morsi More of my reviews at The Cozy Reading Corner

Oh man, I loved this book! It was absolutely enchanting, endearing, and adorable. While there were a few things that I would have liked to be elaborated on, it was easy to overlook in the grand scheme of awesomeness going on in this book. This is the story of D.J. - a single, 29-year old librarian who has just moved to a small town hoping to make a fresh start; and Scott - a divorced single, 30-year old pharmacist who has lived in the same small town all his life. D.J. likes the world to see her as a very boring and uptight woman so that she's never vulnerable. The only time she's ever let her hair down to live a little was with that one guy during spring break eight years ago. When D.J. arrives in this new small town with her very cute puppy, Dew, she finds out that her landlady's son just so happens to be the same hot guy from spring break. She feels lucky that he doesn't recognize her and a little hurt, I mean how does he not remember the best night of her life? When Scott first meets D.J. he can tell that she has taken an immediate dislike to him, although he can't fathom why. He thinks there's something very familiar about her, but he never quite manage to put his finger on what it is. I loved watching these two stumble around each other, avoiding the inevitable. It was obvious to everyone how much chemistry they had, and you were just waiting for them to realize it. I loved D.J. and her work at the library. I loved James, who worked at the library with her. Scott is one hunky guy and I loved him as well. But I really had a soft spot for Viv and the relationship she develops with D.J.'s dog, Dewey, as she tries to adapt to the loss of her husband all while being the mastermind behind D.J. and Scott's relationship. In conclusion, Love Overdue is more than worthy of the five-star rating I have rewarded it and when you read it, prepare yourself for a lot of feels. :))

Taste Test - Kelly Fiore More of my reviews at The Cozy Reading Corner

Taste Test is one of those books that leaves a smile on your face when you're done (and a growling stomach). I loved the spicy competition, the steamy romance, the unexpected mystery, and the really hot chef.... it was an absolutely delicious read that I devoured in one sitting. Okay, I think I'm done with the cooking puns, but you never know what I might stir up later. ;) Nora was quite a force to reckoned with. I loved how she stood up for herself but still managed to maintain this air of vulnerability about her. Christian was a complete jerk that you just love to hate and eventually can't help but fall for. With Nora and Christian, you definitely don't have to worry about there being an insta-love relationship, or even an insta-like one, come to think of it there wasn't an insta-anything-even-closely-resembling-cordial-behavior. Those two were constantly going head to head while throwing verbal knives at each other, and I loved every minute of it. Meanwhile they continue to also battle it out on the show constantly trying to rack up more wins than their opponent. Taste Test is an intense cooking show where the grand prize is $50,000 dollars and a full-ride to this fancy culinary school in Paris. The stakes are high and somebody has decided to sabotage the show. Nora has a pretty good idea of who it is and I agreed with her full heartedly. So the big reveal at the end was definitely a surprise and I loved how non-predictable it was! Overall, I loved this book and I really loved how it ended..... ;D And I definitely wouldn't mind reading a sequel taking place in Paris (*nudge* Kelly Fiore *nudge*).

Splintered - A.G. Howard More of my reviews at The Cozy Reading Corner

There are no words that can accurately describe the magic and wondrousness that is Splintered. A.G. Howard brought to life the much darker counterparts of Wonderland and it's many inhabitants with beautifully horrific descriptions that was not read, but instead devoured. The characters were amazing and real, you never truly knew what anybody's motives were until everything came together in the end in a fantastically-mad, mind-boggling ending. I absolutely loved this book and will always treasure it as the true classic novel that it is! I'm also awaiting the sequel with bated breath.

Okay, I cannot gush enough about how much I loved this book so I just have to write more! Wonderland was amazing, I lived seeing the chaotic non-logic that everyone there lives by. I loved seeing the characters we all know and love turn out to be completely different than anything we could have imagined. I absolutely adored Morpheus, I just couldn't help it (even when I thought he was an evil back-stabbing liar). Alyssa was awesome! I admired her determination to break the curse for her mom and her bravery in going down the rabbit hole to begin with along with her continued bravery all throughout her journey there when everything she ever knew was tested. Jeb was just ridiculously crush-worthy and you couldn't help but root for him to get the girl. Just let it be known that A.G. Howard is a freakin' literary genius! Alright, I think I'm done fangirling.... for now. :))
Forever Too Far (Too Far, #3) - Abbi Glines Actual Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I *loved* the wedding song Rush wrote and thought it was a great addition to have along with the book! <3
Make Me Yours - Alla Kar Actual Rating: 2.5/5 stars

I was really disappointed with this book- it had so many good reviews that I really thought I was going to love it, but alas it was not meant to be..... First let me start off by saying that this book has so much potential! It could be really great! But it needs an editor..... badly. There were so many grammatical errors, I wanted to pull my hair out! And to me, this book read more like an outline. It needs to be filled in and explained more. The people would jump from scene to scene with no explanation at all and Taylor (while smoking hot) fell for Layla way too quickly and (again!) without any explanation given as to why. This book also had many similarities to Beautiful Disaster but I decided to overlook it because I felt like it was still different enough to not come across as a rip-off (although it was a close one). The ending of this book, while a huge cliffhanger, only left me mildly curious and I seriously doubt that I'll be reading the next book.
