Night School - C.J. Daugherty More of my reviews at The Cozy Reading Corner

Night School was a very intriguing, mysterious, and overall enjoyable read. It's almost impossible to describe without being spoilery, but I'll give it a try. Allie Sheridan is very troubled- and this has caused her to hang with the wrong crowd. So when she's arrested for the third time in one year, her parents send her off to Cimmeria Academy, a boarding school out in the middle of nowhere. Cimmeria Academy is so shrouded in secrets that everything is not as it seems. Allie doesn't really fit in at the school, because every single student in attendance is legacy- their parents attended the school, along with their grandparents, and great-grandparents. So what is Allie doing there? One of the faults I found in this book, is how quickly Allie and Jo become friends. They literally became best friends and were already sharing deep, dark secrets within two days of meeting one another. But I overlooked it and kept on reading because I had already been drawn into the story. Allie meets Sylvain, a French flirt, whom she decides she likes (and who also likes her back). She also meets Carter West, the bad-boy loner of the school whom she decides she doesn't like (and who presumably feels the same way). Then stuff starts to get really weird; but no one will tell Allie a thing. Stuff gets even weirder (I can't explain it without spoiling you) when the next fault in the story occurs. Something happens to Allie that she never really reacted normally to and it kind of broke up the flow of the story. Then another event transpired that caused an action to made by someone that I found unforgivable- but Allie seemed all too eager to forgive this person and I'm just over here like: WHAT?!?! But the overall greatness of the story over rode the faults in it. The mystery was great, most of the characters were great, and while Night School is not 5-star worthy, it's still pretty darn good and I look forward to reading the sequel and getting some more answers to all the questions that still remain. (On a side note: the cover is super awesome!)
